Welcome PTS Logistics NEW Terminal Manager – John Fisher
My name is John Fisher and I am originally from Portland, Oregon. I moved to Chicago 2 years ago and have been in the Logistics industry for 20 years. I am excited to bring my expertise to PTS Logistics.
I began my logistics career at Lynden International, where I worked in the warehouse with a primary focus on ULD export build-up and cargo screening for Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines. Additionally, I was responsible for shipping auto parts for Chrysler and General Motors.
In my subsequent role at STG Logistics, I acquired extensive shipping experience in the line haul division, which operated routes from Vancouver, BC, Canada, through Seattle, Washington, Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, California, and Los Angeles, California. In Portland, I managed a drop station serving 37 airlines flying out of various cities. My responsibilities included overseeing ocean imports and exports for multiple global companies. Additionally, we acted as the Ground Handling Agent for Cathay Pacific Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines in Portland, handling comprehensive warehousing and manifesting for inbound and outbound flights. I also served as a DG-CAT6 cargo screening trainer and was involved in customer relations and sales.
After my role with STG Logistics, I worked for Cargo HS, where I managed the ramp Operations for Air China Cargo.
In my personal life, my wife and I enjoy our young son and are blessed to also live with my mother-in-law. I am an avid sports enthusiast and have been a devoted White Sox fan since the age of two. My grandmother was a big Cubs fan, which influenced my early exposure to baseball, especially since we only had five TV channels back then. The first game I watched was the Crosstown Classic. Frank Thomas quickly became my favorite player.
I look forward to learning more about PTS Logistics and its diverse customer base. Please reach out to me at any time with questions, concerns, or opportunities.
